Part C — Course Terms of Use
C.1 Application
These Course Terms of Use apply in addition to the Website Terms & Conditions and govern your enrolment in, and use of, any Course on the Platform.
C.2 Educational scope
The Courses provide general psychoeducation about trauma, stigma, resilience and career transition for first responders. The Courses are educational programs and are not intended to provide a clinical service, psychological treatment, assessment, diagnosis, individual healthcare services or crisis intervention.
C.3 No psychologist–client relationship
Enrolling in, or completing, a Course does not create a psychologist–client, therapeutic or other professional health-service relationship between you and Monica Heafey, RFA, or any other person involved in producing the Course, regardless of Monica Heafey's registration as a clinical psychologist. Nothing in the Courses should be understood as individual advice, treatment recommendations or clinical guidance. Course Content reflects general, evidence-informed education and does not take into account your individual circumstances. C.4 Previous or current clients
If you are currently receiving, or have previously received, psychological treatment, counselling or other professional services from Monica Heafey, you must notify RFA before enrolling in a Course.
RFA may contact you to discuss your proposed enrolment and may, at its absolute discretion, refuse or decline your application for enrolment where RFA considers this necessary, appropriate or consistent with professional, ethical or risk-management obligations.
Any decision regarding enrolment under this clause does not create an obligation for RFA or Monica Heafey to provide clinical services or ongoing support.
C.5 Suitability for the Courses
The Courses may not be suitable for all individuals.
In particular, the Courses are not suitable for, and should not be undertaken by, a person who is currently experiencing an acute mental health crisis, including a person at immediate risk to their own safety or the safety of others. If this applies to you, please seek immediate support rather than enrolling in a Course at this time — call 000 in an emergency, or contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Beyond this, you are responsible for considering whether the Courses are appropriate for your circumstances before enrolling.
C.6 Suspension or termination for suitability reasons
If, at any time following enrolment, RFA reasonably believes that a Course is not suitable for you, or that your continued participation may create safety, ethical, professional or other legitimate concerns, RFA may suspend or terminate your access to the Course.
Where access is suspended or terminated under this clause, RFA may provide a refund calculated on a pro-rata basis having regard to the portion of the Course not yet accessed or used.
A decision made under this clause is intended to protect the interests of both the User and RFA and does not constitute the provision of clinical advice, treatment or assessment.
C.7 Lifetime access
Access to a purchased Course is provided as described in clause B.4 of the Website Terms & Conditions.
C.8 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Platform account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. Your account is personal to you and must not be shared with any other person. You must not permit another person to access the Courses using your account credentials.
C.9 Intellectual property
Clause B.5 (Intellectual property) applies to all Course Content. Your access to the Courses is personal to you and is granted for your personal, non-commercial use only, unless otherwise agreed in writing by RFA. You must not share, transfer or provide your account access, login credentials or downloaded Content to any other person, including colleagues. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, licence, screen record, upload, publish or otherwise make Course Content available to any third party except as expressly permitted by these Terms or with RFA's prior written consent. Organisational Purchasers must comply with any applicable licensing arrangements under clause C.12.
C.10 Use of artificial intelligence
Clause B.6 applies to Course Content.
C.11 Workplace use
If you access a Course, or discuss Course Content, in the course of your employment, for example during rostered hours or using a work device, you are responsible for ensuring that doing so complies with your employer's policies. RFA is not responsible for any workplace consequences arising from your access to or discussion of Course Content.
C.12 Organisational Purchases
Where a Course is purchased by, or a licence is provided to, an Organisational Purchaser for use by its personnel:
the Organisational Purchaser is responsible for ensuring each authorised User complies with these Course Terms of Use;
access is limited to the number of seats or licences purchased, and is non-transferable between personnel except as agreed in writing;
RFA may provide the Organisational Purchaser with aggregate, de-identified participation and completion data, but will not disclose the content of an individual User's Reflection Exercise responses without that User's consent;
additional terms may apply under a separate enterprise licensing agreement.
C.13 Reflection Exercises and questionnaires
Reflection Exercises included in Course Content are optional, self-directed tools provided as downloadable PDF worksheets, intended to support your engagement with the material. They are not clinical or diagnostic assessments. You complete them offline and RFA does not receive, review or store your responses. You should not rely on a Reflection Exercise as a substitute for professional assessment.
C.14 Pre- and post-course quizzes (Course Assessments)
Each Course includes a pre-course and post-course quiz, referred to as a Course Assessment, which invites you to self-report on matters such as your knowledge of trauma-related content and your confidence applying particular skills. Unlike Reflection Exercises, Course Assessment responses are submitted through the Platform and stored by RFA.
RFA uses Course Assessment data, primarily in de-identified or aggregate form, to measure and improve the effectiveness of its Courses and to demonstrate course efficacy in sales pitches and proposals to prospective Organisational Purchasers, such as emergency service agencies. This data is not used in public advertising or marketing directed at individuals. Where RFA wishes to use identifiable information or identifiable assessment results, for example in a testimonial, it will seek your separate, explicit consent before doing so. Course Assessments are not a clinical or diagnostic tool, and individual results are not reviewed by a clinician.
C.15 Limitation of liability
Clause B.10 applies to your access to and use of the Courses, including Reflection Exercises, Course Content and Course Assessments.
C.16 Governing law
Clause B.11 applies.
