Professional Disclaimer

Part E — Professional Disclaimer

E.1 Educational, not clinical

RFA provides general education about trauma, stigma, resilience and career transition for first responders. The Courses, the Website, and any related communications are educational in nature. They are not psychological treatment, therapy, counselling, clinical assessment, diagnosis or crisis intervention, and must not be relied on as a substitute for professional medical, psychological or other health advice tailored to your individual circumstances.

E.2 No professional relationship formed

Your engagement with RFA's Content, including any interaction with Monica Heafey through the Website, marketing or Course delivery, does not create a psychologist–client relationship, a therapeutic relationship, or any other regulated health-service relationship, regardless of Monica Heafey's professional registration as a clinical psychologist. Course Content is prepared for a general audience and does not take into account your individual circumstances, history or needs. Nothing in the Website, Courses or related communications should be understood as creating an ongoing duty of care beyond that applicable to the provision of educational content.

E.2A The capacity in which Monica Heafey appears

Where Monica Heafey appears in Course Content, on the Website, or otherwise engages with a User in connection with RFA, she does so in her capacity as an educator and presenter for RFA, not in her capacity as a treating or consulting clinical psychologist. This distinction is maintained deliberately, including through clauses C.4 to C.6 of the Course Terms of Use, which set out how RFA screens for, and manages, participants who are or have been Monica Heafey's clients.

E.3 Seeking individual support

If you are experiencing psychological distress, or would benefit from individual assessment or treatment, we encourage you to seek support from a registered health practitioner, your employee assistance program, or your general practitioner.

E.4 Crisis support

RFA is not a crisis service and cannot monitor, respond to, or intervene in a User's wellbeing in real time. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For crisis support, you can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, or your workplace employee assistance program.

E.5 No guarantee of outcomes

While Course Content is prepared with care and reflects general evidence-based principles, RFA does not guarantee any particular psychological, educational, career or personal outcome from completing a Course.
